Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC)

The Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) is made up of representatives from each City, Department of Ecology, the Health District, local refuse and recycling companies, and citizen representation. County and City residents are invited to attend the Advisory Committee meetings.

The Committee will advise and help Franklin County develop a Solid Waste Management Plan. Meetings are held on a quarterly basis.

NOTICE OF FRANKLIN COUNTY SOLID WASTE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the Franklin County Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) to hold quarterly public meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of a month in that quarter.  The next meeting will be March 18, 2026 at 1110 Osprey Pointe in Pasco, WA.  Meeting minutes are available at: https://www.franklincountywa.gov/465/Solid-Waste

The purpose of the quarterly meetings are to review standard business items and continue the review of the Solid Waste Management Plan Update (SWMP). RCW 70A.205.075 requires each County to review their plan every 5 years and revise as necessary. Franklin County will be systematically evaluating each component of the current SWMP and determining whether modifications are necessary.
