Update your Signature
Your signature plays a very important role in the election's process. Make sure your ballot is counted by making sure your signature is up to date!
Who should update their signature?
If your name or signature have changed since you first registered to vote, or if your signature has changed due to a physical condition, we recommend you update your signature.
How can I update my signature?
If the signature on your ballot return envelope doesn't match the signature on your voter registration record, we will mail you a signature update cure form.
If, during the signature verification process, our staff notice that your signature has evolved or the signature on your voter record is not in the best quality, we will also send you a signature update form. Even if you haven't had any issues with your signature in the past, we want to make sure your signature doesn't encounter any issues in the future and that your ballot is counted in every election.
But, you don't have to wait for us to contact you! You can also download and print this signature update form or contact our office and we can mail it to you.
Why is it important I update my signature?
State law requires that the signature on your ballot return envelope matches the signature on your voter registration record. If the signature does not match, we are unable to count your vote.
What happens if my signature doesn't match?
If we are unable to verify your signature, our office will mail you a signature update cure form, call and/or email you if you provided our office with this information. Once we receive your signature cure form and we are able to verify your signature, your ballot will move on to the next step of ballot processing.
By when should I return my signature update form?
We recommend you sign and return your signature update form as soon as possible to ensure it is received on time by our office and your ballot is counted. Your signature will be updated in your voter registration record and will be updated for the next election.
Can I update my signature in person?
