Canvassing Board

The three-member Canvassing Board (RCW 29A.60.140) is comprised of the County Auditor, the County Prosecuting Attorney, and the Chair of the Board of County Commissioners or their designees.

Responsibilities

Certifying elections
Determining the validity of provisional ballots
Determining voter intent
Ruling on voter registration challenges

Signature Verification Training

The members of the county canvassing board are required to receive training in signature verification. The county auditor shall publish the names of all canvassing board members who received training and the dates on which the training was completed WAC 434-261-051(8).
