About

The Franklin County Corrections Center is a 320-bed holding facility with an actual rated holding capacity of 300 offenders. The majority of the offender population is offenders being held on local charges, but there are also offenders being held for other counties, the Department of Corrections, and U.S. Marshalls Office. While in the facility, offenders are provided access to medical, mental health, and dental services. 

The Corrections Division is overseen by a Chief with:

  • 1 Captain
  • 2 Lieutenants
  • 5 Sergeants
  • 5 Corporals
  • 36 Corrections Officers
  • 5 Records Clerks

The current jail originally opened in 1986 with a capacity of 102 beds. The new jail section opened in 2014. The jail has a daily average of about 200 inmates.

Letters must have the sender's first and last name and full return name and address. Use regular blue or black ink only. Do not use address stickers. Any tape, stickers, crayon, perfume, stains, or other things on the envelope or letter may cause your mail to be returned to you or placed in the inmate's property. 

Offenders my receive newspapers and magazines sent directly from the publisher or vendor.

Offenders may receive paperback books from Amazon or Barnes & Noble only.

Money Orders

Money orders can be mailed in at any time to be placed on inmate accounts. Cash and personal checks will not be accepted.

Offenders can also receive funds on their commissary accounts by visiting jailatm.com or depositing funds at the kiosk located in the visitation area lobby.

WASPC Accreditation

In 2021, the Franklin County Corrections Division received accreditation with the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC). 

WASPC Corrections Accreditation is a relatively new program and there are very few accredited Corrections Centers in Washington. Receiving accreditation signifies that the policies and procedures of the Franklin County Corrections Center are in compliance with what are considered the best practices in the industry. In 2021, the Corrections Division was one of only seven jails of the 50 in Washington to gain WASPC Accreditation.
